To us, “benefits” goes beyond medical insurance and retirement plans — it also includes features that help you better balance work and career, develop personally and professionally, and plan for a comfortable future. That’s why we are proud to offer a benefits program that encompasses all of this and more.
We believe that when we take good care of our colleagues, our colleagues take good care of our patients, our organization and our community. That’s why we offer this exceptional array of comprehensive benefits for you and your family.
Our dedicated Benefits team meets one-on-one with every new colleague to choose the options that are best for your life.
The bottom line? Our colleagues deliver extraordinary care and service in support of the millions of patients and family members that come to Memorial each year. Our Benefits program is Memorial’s investment in our colleagues and is our shared commitment to their personal well-being and professional satisfaction.
Memorial supplements a major portion for medical coverage through two health plan choices: a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and a Consumer-Driven Health Plan (CDHP). Both medical plans provide the same high level of benefits, including full preventive care coverage, along with easy access to the care you and your dependents need. Cost-sharing amounts like deductibles, copays, out-of-pocket maximums and colleague premiums vary depending on the plan and number of dependents covered. Colleagues who work 32 hours per 2 week pay period are eligible for individual and family coverage. Coverage begins on the 1st of the month following start date. Every new colleague meets one-on-one with a benefits expert to choose the options that are best for your life.
Healthy teeth are a part of overall wellness. Two low-cost, high-quality dental plan options are available to you and your dependents, one with orthodontic coverage. Our vision plan offers the opportunity to purchase coverage for you and your family at a low biweekly rate. Coverage includes yearly exams and contact lenses and/or lenses and frames.
Memorial colleagues can set up two types of FSAs—a healthcare FSA and dependent care FSA. The healthcare FSA allows you to set aside tax-free dollars each year to pay for certain eligible medical, prescription drugs, dental, or vision expenses. The dependent care FSA allows you to contribute pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible dependent daycare expenses. FSAs are available to all benefit-eligible colleagues.
With Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation (MCLI), we offer training in Microsoft Office to Crucial Conversations to Lean Six Sigma classes that help you be your best self at work.
Sometimes you need a vacation, just a recharge, or to attend to a medical condition. We provide paid time off (PTO), sick time, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage.
To protect you and your family from financial hardship in the event of your death or catastrophic injury, Memorial provides basic life insurance (at no extra cost) and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance for eligible colleagues. Options also exist for you to purchase additional coverage for you, your spouse and dependent children at competitive group rates.
A suite of voluntary benefits are available to provide additional financial security. You can choose from whole life insurance, group accident and critical illness insurance with coverage available for you, your spouse and children. Financial assistance for adoption-related expenses is also available.
You can benefit from a variety of discounted memberships and services including Springfield YMCA memberships, cell phone services, and more. Employees also have access to savings and loan programs through Heartland Credit Union with a branch conveniently located at Memorial Medical Center.
Tuition reimbursement and education grants are available to help you elevate your career goals. Grants are awarded to qualified individuals who are pursuing healthcare careers that are deemed critical to Memorial Health System’s present or projected staffing needs. Grants may be awarded for associates, bachelors or advanced degrees.
Every Memorial colleague has access to the Colleague Assistance Program through Memorial's Colleague Assistance Services to resolve a wide range of personal problems. Resources include marital and family counseling, crisis interventions, alcohol/drug counseling, eldercare support, financial counseling, identify theft support and legal issues. All interactions are kept confidential and are free to colleagues and their dependents.
Health for Life is designed to give colleagues resources and tools to help with disease prevention, reducing health risks and continuing their health and well-being journey. Health for Life includes the opportunity to participate in a confidential online health assessment, optional wellness coaching and a free tobacco cessation program, as well as access to online resources that support your desire to lead a healthy, happy life. Additionally, Memorial’s Colleague Health and Wellness department provides annual flu vaccines for no charge to all health system colleagues and year-round health counseling.
