Teens Experiencing Nursing (TEN) Camp

TEN (Teens Experiencing Nursing) Camp is a summer immersion camp designed for high school students who show a strong interest in becoming a registered nurse (RN).  Offered in our Jacksonville, Lincoln, Springfield and Taylorville locations, young students can experience nursing on a first-hand basis, and determine whether a nursing career suits their interests and abilities.

2017 TEN Camp

  • Program Information

    The 2017 TEN Camps will occur Tuesday, June 27, 2017 through Friday, June 30, 2017, from 8a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Students are expected to attend each full day of camp, and must provide their own transportation to and from camp each day.  All students will spend their first day of camp at the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation, located in Springfield, to view presentations and participate in skills stations, and simulations.

    Students who are interested in participating in the 2017 TEN Camp should complete the application below.  Once your application is submitted, we will email you with confirmation of receipt and will request you email scans of the following information to us:

    • Completed Parental Consent Form
    • Unofficial high school transcript
    • Immunization records showing you have had the following vaccines:
      • Proof of two doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella
      • Proof of Chicken Pox
      • Proof of a TB Test completed within the last 12 months

    Please note: all application materials must be received by March 24, 2017, to be considered for an interview for TEN Camp.  Completed Parent Consent Forms, Immunization Records and Transcripts must be submitted by email to workforcedevelopment@mhsil.com.  We will send a link to your high school guidance counselor or teacher at the email address you provided with instructions on how to complete the reference for you.

    Email communication will be sent several times during the recruitment and selection process for TEN Camp.  It is imperative the student provide a reliable email address on the application below to ensure receipt of time-sensitive communication.
